The Canadian Chito Ryu Karate Associations 2017 annual general meeting was held the first weekend in November in Toronto. It was well attended by Canadian Chito Ryu and World Chito Ryu members. There were members from BC, Manitoba,Saskatchewan, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland, Japan and Norway. Hanshi – Model of the Way Chito-Ryu history was made as our style’s supreme instructor (Saiko Shihan) Higashi Sensei was honoured with a promotion to 10th Dan, Hanshi (retroactive as of Jan. 1, 2013). Higashi Sensei’s new belt was very impressive and he wore it well. Several officials from NB Chito-Ryu successfully upgraded at the recent Karate Canada Nationals in Quebec City. Atlantic Chito-Ryu will host the first ever Atlantic Open on the Campus of UNBSJ on August 5, 2017. The competition is open to all styles. Please start spreading the word! CCRA Kyoshi & Renshi Technical Clinic was held in Toronto March 10 – 12, 2017 with the most senior instructors of the Canadian Chito-Ryu Karate Association in attendance. Classes were held at the Higashi dojo (Honbu dojo) as well as the Toronto Pan American Sports Center.
